S&P Enters Bear Territory
Wall Street fell sharply yesterday sending the Standard & Poor's 500 index into its first bear market since 2002. The index declined to a two year low of 1244.69, a 20% decline from its Oct 9 high which is considered the threshold for a bear market. The Dow Jones industrial average and the Nasdaq composite are also deemed to be in a bear market.
