Why will he be the next president?
See the previous post on the U.S. economy. This will become
the number one issue in this political season. John McCain has already stated that economics is not his strong suit. His only hope is to pick a running mate well versed in the subject.
Historically when a party controls the White House for two consecutive terms, the opposite party wins. Obviously this favors the Democratic nominee.
McCain's only hopes lie in Obama making an extremely poor choice in his running mate, an Obama scandal or a major gaffe by the Illinois senator.
